Shipping & Delivery Policy

Doorshop Ltd, supplies and delivers doors, frames and related hardware across Kenya. Because our products are bulky and easily marked in transit, we handle deliveries with more care than a standard parcel service. This policy explains how we prepare, dispatch and deliver every order placed with us.

Order Cut-Off and Preparation Time

• Our order cut-off is 3:00pm East African Time, Monday to Friday.
• Orders confirmed and paid for before the cut-off are prepared the same working day.
• Orders confirmed after 3:00pm are prepared the following working day.
• Our workshop is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Orders received over a weekend or holiday begin processing at 8:00am on the next working day.
• Preparation time is 1 to 2 working days for doors held in stock. Made-to-measure doors, custom finishes and special-order items take longer; we confirm a firm lead time in writing before we accept the order.
• During busy construction seasons or where a supplier is delayed, preparation may take slightly longer. We will call or WhatsApp you as soon as we know, rather than let the date pass quietly.

Where We Deliver

We deliver countrywide in Kenya via Fargo Courier.

We do not currently ship outside Kenya. If you are buying from abroad for a project in Kenya, you are welcome to order with us and nominate a local recipient.

If your delivery point is difficult to reach — an unfinished access road, a site without a gate wide enough for a truck, or an upper floor without a service lift — tell us before you pay so we can plan properly and quote accurately.

Delivery Timeframes

Kikuyu, Rungiri, Kinoo, Ndenderu and the wider Nairobi metropolitan area: 1 to 2 working days from the time your order is ready for dispatch.

Rest of Kenya: 2 to 5 working days from dispatch, depending on the route and the transporter serving your town.

Upcountry consignments travel by contracted lorry or by a courier equipped to carry oversized goods. Doors are wrapped and edge-protected before loading.

All timeframes are working-day estimates and exclude weekends and public holidays. They can be affected by road conditions, weather, transporter schedules and other matters outside our control. Where a delay occurs, we will contact you with a revised date.

Delivery Charges

• Delivery is charged according to the size of the order and the distance to your site. Doors cannot be costed by weight alone, so we quote each delivery individually.
• Orders above KES 500,000 qualify for free delivery countrywide.
• For destinations outside the Nairobi metropolitan area, the transporter’s charge is confirmed to you before dispatch and added to your invoice.
• Collection from our yard is free. You are welcome to pick up your order from Southern Bypass, Rungiri, opposite Alliance High School, between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

Your delivery charge is confirmed before you pay. We do not add charges after an order has been settled.

Offloading and Access

• Our delivery team will offload your doors at ground level at the agreed address.
• Carrying doors upstairs, across a construction site, or into a building is not included as standard. Where you need this, let us know in advance and we will quote for it or advise you to have labour ready on site.
• Someone aged 18 or over must be present to receive and sign for the delivery. If you cannot be there in person, nominate someone in writing beforehand.

Checking Your Order on Arrival

Please inspect your doors before the delivery team leaves. Unwrap at least one edge of each item and check the face, edges and corners.

If anything is chipped, scratched, cracked, warped or incorrect, note it on the delivery note and tell the driver immediately. Take clear photographs. Reporting a transit problem at the point of delivery allows us to resolve it quickly; problems reported days later are far harder to trace back to transit.

Order Updates and Tracking

Once your order leaves our yard we will confirm dispatch by call or WhatsApp on +254 731 621890. For upcountry consignments we pass on the transporter’s reference and contact details so you can follow the vehicle directly.

Failed or Refused Deliveries

Our team will make reasonable attempts to complete every delivery. A delivery may fail where:

• the address given is wrong or incomplete;
• nobody is available to receive the goods at the agreed time;
• the site cannot be reached by the delivery vehicle;
• the customer declines to accept the order without a valid reason.

Where a delivery fails for any of these reasons, a second delivery attempt will be charged. Goods returned to our yard are held for 14 days, after which storage charges may apply.

Incorrect Address Details

You are responsible for giving us an accurate delivery address, a working phone number and clear directions. Doorshop Ltd, cannot be held liable for delay, loss or extra cost caused by wrong or incomplete details supplied at the time of ordering.

Lost Consignments

If an upcountry consignment does not arrive within the estimated window, contact us and we will open a trace with the transporter. Once a consignment is confirmed lost, we will send a replacement or issue a full refund, including what you paid for delivery.

Changing or Cancelling a Delivery

• You may change or cancel an order at any time before it is dispatched, at no cost.
• Once a vehicle has been loaded, changes to the address or delivery date may not be possible, and a return-to-yard charge may apply.
• Made-to-measure and custom-finish doors cannot be cancelled once cutting or finishing has begun.

Events Beyond Our Control

Doorshop Ltd, is not liable for delay or failure in delivery caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, impassable roads, accidents, strikes, civil unrest, fuel shortages, government directives or transporter breakdowns. Where such an event occurs, we will work with you on a revised date or, if you prefer, refund the order in full.
